Same here, didn't remember how I installed it, I was getting the yt-dlp -U error message, also the pip install yt-dlp error message and finally also:
So not only did I forget how I installed it, I also forgot ever uninstalling pip afterwards?! Must've been some party that night. But the update did work finally after I

When I try to run
yt-dlp -U
it tells me "It looks like you installed yt-dlp with a package manager, pip, setup.py or a tarball. Please use that to update."I do not remember having installed yt-dlp with a package manager. How do I find this out?
The only one of the three mentioned -i recognize is 'pip'. Pip, however, doesn't have an option that says "update" or "upgrade" or something like that.
